Hi everyone,

For those who are constantly looking for methods of increasing AEG rate of fire and decreasing trigger response time, the quest is over.  The Cyclone Dual-Sector TM Gear is now available.

FEATURES

- Evolutionary "Dual-Sector" TM design allows two shots per sector gear cycle.

- Half-cycle cut-off system retains semi-automatic fire functionality.

- Precisely calculated and accurately produced gear teeth involute profiles provide maximum efficiency and durability.

- All components are CNC machined from chromium molybdenum steel and case hardened, offering superior durability.

- Shape-optimized power cut-off cam decreases cut-off lever reset time, which reduces the chance of trigger switch jam.

- Compatible with common spur cut high speed and stock ratio gear sets.

INSTRUCTIONS & SUPPORT

The installation manual is here: http://www.siegetek.com/instructions/cyclone.pdf

The support forum is here: http://forums.airsoftmechanics.com/index.php?board=22.0

The Cyclone Dual-Sector Gear system trades power output for rate of fire, please refer to the spring performance chart below for spring selection guidance.

WARNING

- Cyclone Dual-Sector TM Gear system should only be used in setups with 363mm or shorter inner barrels.  Due to the short stroke nature of the Dual-Sector Gear design, longer barreled setups may not function correctly with the system.

- Do not install the spring guide spacer or the Cyclone-specific spring into regular full stroke setups.  Doing so will lead to severe damages to the mechbox components.

- Due to the tight tolerances and specifications used to design and produce these gears, clone mechboxes and components may not be compatible.

- For steel bushings with oil channels, please fill the channels with lubricants first before gear installation.  Failure to do so will lead to bushing damage.

- Actual appearance may vary between production batches due to constant manufacturing process refinements.

DISCLAIMER

Gear installation requires mechbox disassembly, assembly, and operation knowledge and skills.  Misuse of the gears may cause personal injury, death, or property damage.  The buyer assumes all associated risks and liabilities by purchasing these gears.

TERMS OF SALE AND WARRANTY

Due to the mechanical wear and tear nature of gears and my lack of control over user installation quality, all sales are final.  A 7-day replacement warranty from the date of product receipt is offered to cover manufacturing defects.  No other warranty of any kind is provided.  Manufacturing defects include only traits, such as cracks and fractures, that prevent proper operation of the gears.  Please note that machine marks, assembly marks, and other cosmetic blemishes are not considered as defects since they do not hinder product performance.  Furthermore, damages due to incorrect installation are not covered under the warranty.

For warranty service, the original buyer must contact me to arrange the return of the defective gears.  Replacements will be shipped out as soon as I receive the defective gears.  The aforementioned 7-day replacement warranty applies to the replacements.

WOW, the question I have is, with most high rof setups I add a sector clip to allow the magazines to feed, will this feed the magazines?

Rob, it looks like you can still use the sector clip, or in this case it looks like you need 2 for it to work properly.

Good point. I've started to make my own out of plastic and they work flawless so far. I'm gonna have to get a set of these, after I get another new pistol for work (yeah my real stuff)

RiotSC, will this gear work with Infinite Torque up gears?

Rob,

I don't recommend using sector clip/chip with this gear due to the compacted timing between piston release and tappet plate retraction.  You most likely will just get massive airleaks with the sector clip installed.  It is best that you stick with known reliable magazines and light weight BBs (0.2g) instead.

Alucard,

The Dual-Sector TM Gear was designed with ROF in mind.  So it is only compatible with spur cut high speed and stock ratio gear sets only.

Ok, that is what the term "ingenious" was created for. I'm just curious what modifications need to be made to the piston and tappet.

This couldn't be combined with the other two gears of a V7 gear set, would it?

MagnetoPenguino,

The Dual-Sector Gear does work with my V6/7 Torque gear set and also V7 stock ratio gear sets based on TM's specs.  Smiley

bruin757,

I'll post the instructions and pictures within this week.  The piston mods basically involve teeth removal and engagement angle alignment.  They are the very same mods recommended for most high ROF setups.

tiae,

Sorry, I generally do not give out samples due to the high production cost and limited quantities available.

Given the power of the spring required to give 300fps and the low ratio of your high speed gears would a Turbo or Magnum motor give the highest ROF on an 11.1?

Sorry for the stupid question but I am just trying to get a parts list together for a 'box based around this thing...

Hi amateurstuntman,

I would say the Magnum motor is a better choice over the Turbo due to the torque requirement.  High speed motors tend to have lower torque output and require spin-up time to reach their performance levels.  As such, the increased initial loading from the higher rate springs will increase the current drains of the high speed motors, possibly to an unsafe level.  So the chance of burning up an otherwise good motor increases.

For optimal performance, please also make sure that your battery pack has the necessary sustainable current rating (~40 Amps), as SystemA motors are usually power hungry.

A few questions:

1. Will this work with ICS as long as I change out the bushings?
2. With Prometheus High speed gears, a Magnum motor, a 40amp discharge battery, and a M110 spring, what kind of ROF can I expect using the Dual sector gear?
3. Not sure if I'm reading that graph properly. What fps spring would I need to still get about 325fps using the Dual sector gear?

Thanks,

Hi,

1. The gear does work in ICS mechboxes.
2. For a better estimate, I would need to know your current setup's ROF and battery voltage.
3. M170 spring.  I am also working on a buffer device that would allow lighter springs to reach their full power output.

Cheers.  Smiley
